Kelowna Family Y
Beginning with a feasibility study and site analysis, we completed a significant upgrade and expansion of the Kelowna Family YMCA/YWCA in 2002. Exploiting the view and park setting, the project includes a renovated leisure pool, change rooms, multipurpose space and two new fitness areas. The project budget established in the early phases was maintained through to completion.
Providing the facility with the opportunity to provide users with refreshed, modern change rooms.
Our involvement with the Kelowna Family Y has continued over the last 10+ years, with a feasibility study exploring the expansion of the gymnasium in 2009 and a study proposing options to improve the men’s, women’s, and family change rooms in early 2013, the designs for which were implemented in 2014. These renovations capitalized on an existing need to remediate the boiler room ceiling, providing the facility with the opportunity to provide users with refreshed, modern change rooms.
The Kelowna Y was the studio's first project, so it was nice to be home.
THIS WAY, IF YOU PLEASE
Making the facility easily navigable seems superficial, but is actually essential and underpinned almost every decision made.
